    UTAU "Projects": Pros and cons?

    Post by Aster Selene on Fri Jun 11, 2010 3:57 am

    So you've all seen those collective UTAU "Projects". You know, SRSloids, ReVoiceLoid, UTAU XYZ, UTAU Capella, etc.

    I've been wondering if I should have Hana join one of these kinds of groups. (I don't want to actually run a project myself, I don't have the time etc.) It would help my UTAU experience.

    But at the same time I'm wondering: Does it cause your UTAU to lose individuality? I mean, in the 317 Chorus, the "groups" were clumped together rather unceremoniously, no names mentioned at all.

    So, pros and cons? Should I/should I not?

    And yes, mystsaphyr, I'm looking at you. You've got the firsthand experience in this.

    Meh, you can make your own group of UTAUloid. xD But I see no need to join a big group, because, um, HAIH THIS IS THE OSUForum ;u;

    Most of these groups are just housing the various utauloids people make and arent open to new members anyway.

    UTAUs in groups will get known faster, that's true. But that's not really important isn't it?

    I've always found groups kind of pointless.

    But, I guess that's funny.
    When I started, there was US series, PSS, SRSloids, and AE series. (Not sure about UTAU Dreams, but that's less of a group... more of a... I don't get it?)
    Of the UTAU users I knew of at the time, Hai, Yesi, and I were the only ones who weren't really in a group. And Hai (Ensei Ayame) even said that we were a group at time XD;

    The Rainbow UTAUloids Project...
    Is LGBT only, BUT...
    It's not a "group", per se.
    More of a website that advertises the UTAUloids it houses.
    My friends UTAUloids (The new females), they HAPPEN to be bi and lesbian, so I took them in to get them more attention, or in Blackstatics case, make her an UTAUloid from a failed Voice Acting attempt. |D
    It's also turning into a tutorial site. XD

    There are many UTAU groups; some are free to be joined, others can only be joined if the leader can make the otos.

    Aline is sorta in a group herself (with Deon, Mugen, Seon and Seun), but since it's a nameless group, it doesn't really count; I was thinking on making the Waltzloids/Valseroids with Aline, Seiko, Seito, Kimiko, Moritake and KAMINARI (and maybe Yohji and Reika, or whoever wanted to enter in it), but I'm kinda giving up on this; or at least, trying to choose a better name.

    Two projects I think that are rather open to other members are DESUTAU and ReVoiceLoids; DESUTAU has some pretty strict character rules, though. I dunno about RVL, you might need to ask Onaneko about that. (Actually, I'm not even sure if DESUTAU is open or not, you'd need to ask Kitka)

    My UTAUs are related but I never bothered putting them in a project since it seems useless.

    Cedar, I suppose, would be in a special "First-Nations UTAU" group due to his secondary language(that no one will use).

    I call Katarina Sokkyoune and CN-L4 lopho 'CANFPOID' because they're designed and voiced by me. XD
    But well...talking about friendships and related characters, I think Kata belongs to Seiya-RAI-Yuuta-etc. group...
    Anyways, I've helped doing Neko Kodoku (although she doesn't have oto.ini yet so I was thinking about doing one for her...) and one of my friends IRL wants to make an UTAUloid...and I'm good friends with Aoi Hatsun's creator, so maybe a group would merge, I don't know really ^^;

    In all ~*~*~technicality~*~*~, Yuuta is a Sakuseiloid, so he's chillin' out with, umm...

    Naka
    Naji
    ...and a bunch of others that have names but no pictures on the internet...

    But he really seems like he's in the, like Cata said, Seiya-RAI-Kata group... xDD

    I have a group called OSloid because the future UTAUloids I plan on making are based on Windows Operating Systems. Or anyone who has an UTAU that's a computer operating system based (Linux, Mac, ya name it; kinda like the OS-tans).

    I also have a MSloid group for Magical Girls since Maho Shojou translates to Magical Girl anyways.

    KC-loids are no group. They are just... Well, Yuugi is the only one actually. (Besides the other two my sister and brother will make)

    But it's not a group. We don't are priviledged in anything or something... Just for fun, you see?
