I'm not sure this is the right place to put this, but...
There is a major problem with VIRUSES on the internet nowadays.
I have another rouge anti-spyware program on my comp now. This is the second time in 4 days, and it isn't fun.
    SO!
This is what you should do if you have a rouge anti-spyware program/virus on your computer (the ones that say "XP Internet Security 2010", or "Vista Security 2010", or "Win 7 Internet Security 2010"- theres a list somewhere with the entire list of 'em.
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL AND CLICK PROCESSES, THEN KILL THE PROCESS "av.exe". IF YOU DON'T YOU CAN'T USE THE INTERNET AT ALL TO REFERENCE THIS GUIDE.
First, open notepad and copy/paste this into it-
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.exe\shell\open\command]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\secfile\shell\open\command]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe\shell\open\command]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe]
    @="exefile"
    "Content Type"="application/x-msdownload"

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\secfile]
Save it as "fix.exe" somewhere on your desktop. Run it, say yes.
    2. Download Avast! Anti-virus or Maleware Bytes Anti-Malware, install and update.
    3. RUN A FULL SCAN, AND REMOVE ALL FILES THAT ARE FOUND
3b. When removing files, it may say it has to reboot to delete some files. Say yes to this prompt.
    4. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to do except take it to an IT guy, Geek Squad, or try removing it manually. -_-;

Yeah... since this is taking up my own scans time, I'm gonna quickly check the forum and say "Good Night".

i do the same thing i also try and research the name of the process running.

also spywareblaster is really good in keeping things off your computer, it's not a spyware program it's just more for extra defense keeping those things off so, you barely need to run spy and malware programs as often.

also good tips can be found on youtube like one guy who's really good at tweaking and such, i go check out his videos often https://www.youtube.com/user/PCWizKid#p/p

I barely ever download viruses, maybe I'm just lucky, but I've always found that not going on stupid websites, letting AGV free do it's thing, and actually turning on that windows security thing that say "do you want to let this program run" every time it try to load a new program. And that seems to do the job.

Then if things do look tits up, I tend to HijackThis it, and find what is faffing with my compy.

They're registry keys. They're hidden in the registry. That's why you have to paste this into Notepad.

I pasted it into notepad and such but the prompt shows up and disappears in a second.
