USTs going off-time Empty USTs going off-time

Post by Guest Wed Sep 08, 2010 11:52 pm

It's not that the tempo is wrong. I use premade usts by other people and occasionally the timing just screws up and I have to ignore the premade rests and adjust the length of time myself in my video editor. Sometimes it's not even the space, it just randomly decides to go off.

Is something wrong with UTAU, or are people just bad at making usts?

I notice this happens more when importing a vsq into a ust or exporting a ust into a vsq. Or maybe it's just coincidence that it happens with ones I'm changing file formats for.

Yeah, I have this problem sometimes.
I just think it's because the karaoke they used is different that mine because other USTs work fine... but I'm not that sure now that you say it.

(I really doubt it's a PAL/NTSC problem like happens with videos for the different framerate. But I guess I'll toss this option.)

The thing is it's not one particular person, it's varied usts once in a while. Most of the time they line up, but there are those...difficult...ones.

Sometimes midis do that. Their note length isn't spot-on, and it adds up until it's just plain off at a point.

I've noticed that too, a lot of weird random little spaces. o.o But I really don't have any idea why it's happening either. I mean, I don't /think/ people would put those in, it kind of seems counterintuitive...

You mean like Sky's original Seikan Hikou ust?

There's a fix to those spaces.... in a program that can slice audio clips, however.
Split/slice the clip at the off time bits and move the second part of the sliced audio to where it would be on time. o_o If this happens in between notes however, that's plain weird. I would hate slicing those up.

I had to do that for Mr. Munou's Hidalgo UST, as it's off-time, even in normal notes. Some of them are too long, some of them are just right but the rests are off. o_o

And guess what? Now I want to make a on-time Hidalgo ust, because DAMN I HATE THAT UST.

Hm...so the usts are just off-time? I don't want to keep having to splice them.
