I'm making a UST of 'Hikari' by Elisa, but there's a problem.

There's harmonies, and I have no idea how to go about doing them in the UST.

    Help?

Well, unfortunately, you can't do the harmonies in the same UST, but you can make it two parts, one with the melody and one with the harmony, and then put them on top of each other when you're mixing it. ^__^

When I make harmonies, I have two USTs open, the one with the melody, and the second is a copy I'm editing to make the harmony with.

It really helps if you have a piano or keyboard near to listen to the harmonies so you don't have to export everytime you want to test it.

And the trick is, when you make a harmony, it has to be in the same key, so as long as you don't introduce any notes that aren't used in the melody, it should sound alright. (As long, as the melody and harmony are atleast one fullstep apart, atleast)

    ^What they said.
Also, if the harmonies are loud enough (or you have headphones), you can pick them up by ear. That's what I do ^^"

DITTO what everyone else just said xD

One thing to mind when making harmony .ust's is that they WONT be the melody lowered or raised. If you want to start making a harmony by lowering or raising the melody .ust (to keep the rhythms you want), you WILL have to change some notes. That way you dont travel away from the key center xD ./shot before musician rant begins
