Clearer Recording with Rockband Mic [Reaper]

Post by vio. on Sun Oct 17, 2010 10:22 pm

Alright, so I figured a small trick to make a clearer recording with a Rockband Microphone using the Program REAPER. It's really simple and provides a nice, solid sample.

First, Record your voice. You can do whatever method you want, I really don't care. Aslong as you are using Reaper.

Secondly, click the FX button and select DX: Sony Resonant Filter from the menu. And set the settings accordingly:

Third, Test the setting. My setting may or may not be right for your voice or environment. Just be sure to move the Frequency up if you move the Hz down.

Fourth, You should have a much clearer recording; Here's my Results. First you will hear the unedited recording following the edited one.

    Warning!
I've found when you save them and compare samples, the one with the clarity improvement is very level; it looks almost nonexistent. I don't think this is a problem in UTAU, but it makes it hard to oto.ini sometimes. So you may want to up the dB by atleast Six.

    Hope this helps out.
