Yeah... I need that. I am trying to record Yuugi's Act 2, but when I open the files into UTAU all the airyness tranfers into roboticness. I'm kinda annoyed by it, and the worst thing is that I KNOW the problem. I am recording too soft. But I have a soft voice IRL... So is there a way to change this? It isn't my microphone, that one is already tested. And it passed. So it's me. Can anybody help me?

    Scream.

.....Anyway, maybe try to use the reduce noise effect on Audacity? It sometimes helps with extra breathiness.....((or sometimes makes it worse- it depends...))

Or maybe the Smoother/Enhancer on REAPER?

Record with REAPER? I could always try that. Or FL-studio.

Oh, I get where you're coming from. :/ So far, I've deleted by UTAUloid's entire voicebank twice, and now I have to record again in the next week.

So I'm with you on this bud.

In Audacity, I usually just record my voice in a quiet room, let it record some white noise a bit after I've recorded the syllable and then just set the Noise Removal effect.

Though, I end up with this annoying vibrating noise sometimes which ticks me off to no end....hey, if you do find a better program, tell me about it, k?

I've heard REAPER gives you a better quality recording, it might be worth a shot. ^__^ Or maybe you could turn up the input volume on your mic?

    Well.
I've seen Halo try to use reaper for a compare with samples, and when she imported the wav, it wouldnt even work in UTAU.
    So...
    yeah.

I use audashitty for my recordings.
I dont know why your samples get roboticy from softness.
    Luna's soft append didn't orz.
It may be the background noise, ne?

I read somewhere if the vocal zone (white zone in the oto) is short then the sound in UTAU ends that way.

Are your samples very short (like 1-2 seconds)? If they are, try to extend the vowel when you're recording (around vowels 3 seconds long, but keep the consonant short as normal).
    Was that the issue?

Neh, I don't have short recordings. They're... average sized?

But, thanks for your help everyone! I will try out your tips. Once everybody gets the **** out of the living room.

I'm actually saving for my own PC, but I don't want to buy anything as long as they are still remodeling our house. Maybe they'll break it or something!

    yeah.

Oh! That happened to me too when I tried it, it was just that the .wavs were, like, 32-bit or something and they needed to be 16-bit to work in UTAU.
