    Welllll,,,

sometimes it likes to render certain sounds reeeaaaal soft, even though everything is normal and the note under any other circumstance sounds perfectly loud like all the rest.

it also likes to scream at me.

certain sounds sound like my speakers are breaking...

    but they aren't, i checked.

Here's an example of some of the softness (some I just amplified, but then I got annoyed :< ), i tried to edit out the screeches because they /hurt/.

ALSO, i recorded this new female voicebank (which actually sounds decent manly AAAAA) it was supposed to be Jessi's Append Sweet, but it uhh... doesn't really sound anything like her. And yes, the lisp is on purpose.

Should I make it a new UTAU? If so, male or female? And would anyone like to help design it~? :33

Umm, shoot... I had this problem once and I used to know how to fix it. It might have something to do with the resampler.dll box in Project Settings. Try unchecking it if it's checked (or vice versa), rerender it, and see if that helps.

She definitely still sounds female, and very cute. ^__^ I'd go with a cute kind of design, kind of spunky, if that makes any sense? And I can definitely hear a greenish kind of color scheme, with either pigtails or short cropped hair.

I have the screaming thing, too. It's easy to make a crappy fix but I don't know how to fix it for real.

Let's say sometimes some notes just don't render correctly (I think it comes from using a not Japanese locale but I'm not sure). It's how UTAU works to me.

What i make to fix it:

Select All Notes (you can use Ctrl+W) in UTAU like normal and play them (F5).
Listen carefully and look for the broken note to appear, stop the song (F7) and select the broken note. Play it to check if that's the broken note and not one near it.
When the broken note is selected, right click on it and use the third option (Clear Cache). Then right click on that note again but now select the first option (Render and Play). Repeat if the note is still broken.

Now select all the song from the note you just fixed and continue checking for broken notes.

Previosly to fix it I used to change the pitch of the broken note, play it, make it back to the normal pitch and recheck if it was fixed... but the new method is faster and now I understand it does the same fix (clear the cache to try to render it correctly).

Also, somewhere I read adding any flag (even if it's so small it really doesn't matter) fixes it from the start.. but I don't like that option. *shrugs*

Now, about a note being too soft...

Are just notes like k* (ka, ke, ki, ko, ku) or other sounds with "explosive consonants" the ones that drop the sound?

I'm not sure at all -I'm still checking the issue- but it seems that if the sound is recorded with a very loud part (like the consonant) and a soft vowel:

The note will sound very soft compared to the rest always.

But you say it only happens sometimes so I guess a problem with a bad rendering like in the first issue I commented could be the cause. I guess you could do the re-rendering thing, too.
