What do you think of your name?

Topic explains itself kinda. aha--

I've been wondering, do most people like or dislike their names? It's not something you decide, bust most people have to live with it for their whole entire life, lol.


I really really dislike my name, btw. @A@;;
It sounds really weird for a korean name, and the meaning's... ehhh. orz
The hanja is "金山小" which would normally be read Kim Sanso, meaning "Small Mountain" (And Sanso also means "Grave" and "Oxygen") But Syo sounds closer to the chinese pronunciation, so my mom used that as the hangul instead. (I'm even sure if people are allowed to do that, lol.)

And since Sansyo sounds weird, I tell people to just call me Syo usually.

(My sisters have cool names too, Sanhwa and Sanho. ...mine's the only one that sucks, LOL.)

I like my name. It usually leads to hilarious discussions.

Person A: "So what's your name?"

Me: "Moses"

Person A: "What seriously?"

Me: "Yes"

Person A: "Can you help me let my people go?"

Me: "Not now I'm on break"

I like my name, but people can never decide how to pronounce it. -_-;; My name is "Andrea", pronounced like "and-ree-uh". But people want to make it weird and...Italian sounding.

Ehhhhhh mines ok.
I like the meaning though; To trap or ensnare * w*

I don't like my name. It's Evelyn. It sounds really... old person-y D: and when my older brother says it, he says "Ellen" (eh-uh-lyn or eh-len) xD

My Chinese name is Yuan Yang, I don't know what it means and I can't find the characters for it even though I know them orz... A lot of ppl says it's pretty sounding, but no one uses it, they just call me "mui mui" or "mui" or some other variant lol

Oh, my last name is 黎, pronounced sort of like "lie" in Cantonese, but in English it's "Li"... there are apparently two different "Li" surnames in Chinese, and mine is the less common one. Means "black; abbreviation for Lebanon"... um, whut.

yeah...It is unique for Korean name...Uh...

My real name is Yun Ye sul(윤 예슬), and It is hangul. not hanja. It means pretty and wise(예쁘고 슬기롭게) But I'm not pretty or wise(wwwwwwwwwww)

I like mine, but I'm little worried if I'll be older. As a grandma, my name doesn't match!!!!!(just in my though)

I don't mind my IRL name, pretty much every friend of the family (AKA most of my hometown) thought of it, and so it stuck. What I do hate though is when people mispronounce it with the more popular french version, and it drives me mad. It's "ee", people! Not "ee-ah!"
And I don't like being called Soph online, it's just... bland and boring. Plus Ayla has been my online (and offline) alias for what, five years now? Yeah, that name's kinda stuck... so just call me Ayla =/

Ahaha! It's written 산소, but everybody in my family says 산쇼 instead. LOL, doees that make any sense? @u@;;

(I think 쇼 sounds cooler than 소 anyways... ahaha!)

Everyone calls me "Tuksun", "Tuscan", "Twoksan"... And a couple of times, people have called me "Jackson". I KNOW I have short hair, but do I really look like a guy..? ; n;

And if people only hear my name, they always spell it COMPLETELY wrong. "twoson", "tusun", "toosoon". I mean, seriously.

And sometimes, for some reason, people say it with a french accent. It weirds me out.

Me: ...But it's not.

Also, I have African/American heritage.

My name is Yasmin. I love it. It makes me a lot cuter. Also, a lot of people can't pronounce it. They pronounce it as Jazzmin, But it's like the Japanese 'ya'...

It also rhymes with my sister's name and my brother's name, which leads to very nice conversations sometimes. xD

My name's Jessica, but I just go by Jess IRL. (It's shorter and cuter that way xD)

my name annoys me occasionally, but that's mostly when teachers decide to read it in full and then pronounce it wrong D< My full name is Alexandre (my mom thought it'd be ever so lovely to do the portugese spelling so that i'd have a bit of my fathers culture =__=) and like everyone pronounces it Alexandra or Alexandre (re as in rebirth). But most teachers here are friggin dumb and can't just say Alex until AFTER they take attendance (srsly who goes by the full name?).

My name is Lisandra (yes written that way) but I hate the way people pronounce it sometimes (Le-SAND-dra; emphasis on the "SAND") or write it "Lissandra", "Lixandra", "Lesandra" or the most infamous "Lizandra".

It's Greek and means "Defender of mankind" (but I'm too lazy to do that ha ha).

I don't mind it, I just dislike how people tend to pronounce it (my family and I pronounce it "Li-san-drah"), so I'm constantly correcting them xD

People call me Lee/Li or Lei a lot. Lisa too but I dislike that name highly (personal reasons please don't ask AoA;;; )

My IRL name is Jacqui. It's annoying because there are many spellings for it and when someone asks me how to spelling, they spell it wrong anyway. I also hate how they nickname me Jacq. I want another name Mum! D:

It seems to be an exotic and cool name, but here in Brazil, well... It's too goshdarnedly common.

The fact I have a really common surname makes it even worse. Try to search "Aline Martins de Oliveira" in Google. All of them Brazilian, but you'll notice not even 10% of them are me D:
