    Post by Catgirl Sat Aug 14, 2010 12:49 pm

    A singing test for my UTAU ^^ She still lacks some phonemes, but I have all the ones for this first part of Toeto. I thought it'd be a good idea to share and get some feedback.

    There -> http://www.4shared.com/audio/yXWbDDis/temp.html

    What do you think? >.<

    I took the notes for the ust in http://utaulibrary.blogspot.com/
    I actually copied the notes manually on a new project, because the original sounded choppy at times, but that's pretty tiring, it would be nicer if I could edit the original... anyone knows how to reset all notes to their defaults?

    I think she has a nice voice :3

    And about the copy lyrics, I don't really know how to help you. Cause select all and copy paste probably doesn't work, ne? xD

    Thanks <3

    Does copy+paste reset the note to defaults? I thought it would paste them as they were originally o_o But, anyway, somehow copy+paste doesn't work for me between different files. Not sure why, maybe it's related to the fact I'm running it on a virtual machine. Or I screwed up something (most likely) xD; Actually, lately I can't drag group of notes around, too. It always moves one note even if I selected many <.<; I fear I've done something wrong by clicking some random Japanese menu, but God only knows what I did XD;
    Maybe I should wipe the installation and reinstall XD;

    Ops sorry, didn't really read what you were saying
    Of course copying don't set notes to default, stupid me xD
    I can't really help on that, sorry

    About the "only move one problem" I think it has to do with a click thingie in the down right corner that should say M, I'll make a pic

    Spoiler:

    Hope it helped :3

    Oh, great. I'll try that later. Thank you very much for the help *3*

    [edit]
    I just found out that selecting all notes, go to properties and clear pre-utterance and overlap made big improvements on the original UST ^^V

    Also, the M thing just works XD

    Lol XD
    Hm... O_o Sorry, I'm a bit dense sometimes XD; I don't understand stuff if it isn't pointed to me precisely XD;
    The parts where I think she sounds somewhat weird are mainly around lower notes (under C4)... is that what you mean? There's also some "i" that is definitely overboard too. Or you mean something else...?

    Yes about the notes. Is the VB recorded lower than C4? if so then voices low than C4 will sound really bad.

    The voicebank is recorded higher than C4. I think most voice samples are recorded around E4/F4.
    She sounds good from C4 and up but most stuff under C4 sounds odd... some syllables are ok till B3, but still... Toeto goes down to G3, when it goes "desu uso desu" :/
    I don't really know what to do about them, except trying to record lower samples and make "↓" type otos. Is there any way to improve the rendering of these notes besides that?

    Her voice sounds really nice ^^ I don't think it goes weird below C4, it sounds like it's just down to a weird pitchbend on 'uso desu'. If you want to improve how it sounds on lower notes though, I don't think there's anything you can do other than recording a lower set of sounds.

    Thank you ^_^
    You know, I think you're right about the pitch bends. I mostly kept the pitch bends of the old UST to make this test, but I was messing with it now and I noticed they really needed to be modified in many many places. A few things that sounded odd went way better and transitions to the lower octave more natural.
    I will re record a couple of sounds too.
    I can't seem to get the 'uso desu' pitch sound nice, though. I'll try more.

    I don't really want to record a lower set D: I'll keep it as extrema ratio if everything else fails <.<
