So I'm working on a Salish UTAU. For those who have no idea what that is, Salish is a group of aboriginal peoples around the west coast of North America, just around the border.
The Salish peoples have like 20 different tribes/languages. I'm only familiar with two; my own heritage (Chilcotin) and the one I was raised with (Kwakwaka'wakw).
Currently I'm attempting to make an UTAU who speaks Kwak'wala. I am mostly doing this because an UTAU singing Rolling Girl in an obscure Native-Canadian Salish language would be so goddamn awesome, but also because of the issue of only 5% of the population knowing the language. That's 230 people. I'm hoping I can spread the knowledge of the language this way.
I'm going to attempt a recclist for the language, but I'm having trouble finding sources for learning it as well as what the sounds are (I can't read the IPA so Wikipedia is useless to me). Help = awesome.
I'd also love it if more people decided to make UTAU for Aboriginal groups in multiple countries or showed support for UTAUs like this. ;w;
