    Aboriginal UTAU 34phs1j
    So I'm working on a Salish UTAU. For those who have no idea what that is, Salish is a group of aboriginal peoples around the west coast of North America, just around the border.

    The Salish peoples have like 20 different tribes/languages. I'm only familiar with two; my own heritage (Chilcotin) and the one I was raised with (Kwakwaka'wakw). It's totally okay if you just imitated pacman trying to pronounce that.

    Currently I'm attempting to make an UTAU who speaks Kwak'wala. I am mostly doing this because an UTAU singing Rolling Girl in an obscure Native-Canadian Salish language would be so goddamn awesome, but also because of the issue of only 5% of the population knowing the language. That's 230 people. I'm hoping I can spread the knowledge of the language this way.

    I'm going to attempt a recclist for the language, but I'm having trouble finding sources for learning it as well as what the sounds are (I can't read the IPA so Wikipedia is useless to me). Help = awesome.

    I'd also love it if more people decided to make UTAU for Aboriginal groups in multiple countries or showed support for UTAUs like this. ;w;

    I'd be curious to take a listen to an UTAU singing in that language. It should be interesting enough.

    This is a great idea!

    I'd also like to see some more Latin (actual Latin not Latin American/Hispanic) UTAU voice banks

    The problem with Latin (you're talking about the Ancient language, yes?) is that no-one knows for sure how they pronounced things. *has taken ancient Latin class for three years*

    Yeah Ancient Latin.

    Then it makes it more original~ meaning every UTAU would have a difference pronunciation of Latin~

    Mmmm, I do not know anyone who could make one for us... We should have a reclist-request thread.

    Oh, what a great idea! ^__^ That would be a really good way to keep the language alive, and maybe introduce more people to it. I'd really love to hear it!

    Oh! Oh! My friend takes Latin! I'll ask her about it.
