I can't help but feel a sense of pride when I'm dressed in my own self-made costumes, even when they start falling apart at the seams.
On the otherhand, a store bought costume is professional looking. Most japanese/asian cosplayers order their costume premade from an online shop. They dress in accurate costumes for professional photoshoots. It is a different sort of hobby overseas though, people seem to take it less seriously and just have fun with it.
It still feels like I'm cheating when I dress in the store bought costume though. I almost feel like lying when people ask me if I made it myself after taking my picture. /is dishonest.
This is not an issue if we're cosplaying as our own UTAUs though~ what are your thoughts?
oh yes! and post your cosplay line-up for next year
I'm going as:
Rin from the BL game Togainu no Chi
Momoko from Sumomomo momomo
Gokudera from Reborn! (not manly enough looking for this ahh.)
and perhaps my UTAU if I can find a oversized sweater in this season.
