Would it be possible to duplicate a file of a sound (i.e. e, a, i) and rename it in Hiragana/Katakana so that way your UTAUloid could sing USTs encoded in Kana, or would that just mess it up?

Since my UTAUloid's voices are encoded in Romanji only.

I would suggest you use the alias function instead. Saves a lot of time and oto.ini tuning time (because you have to port identical settings of your oto.ini if you rename files). That way even if the VB is in romaji, you can put hiragana aliases so they can work with hiragana usts.

Not using the oto.ini is BAD. That'll definitely mess up your UTAU if you don't tune it.

Go to where you adjust the oto and you'll see that for every note there's a space called "alias". Fill in the character that matches, so when a hiragana ust is plugged in, it'll read the character, see that it's an alias that maps to a romaji character, and play the right one.

I didn't use UTAU and I tested by UTAUloid to sing a UST for Melt, and she sounded fine...what'd go wrong if I didn't use the oto.ini though?

When extremely short notes are played, there can be static, along with improper overlap of notes and a bunch of other problems. Even if you record with OREMO, you have to do minor tweaking. (I used Audacity so I can't say much ><)

Hm...Are you typing in the hiragana manually using the keyboard?

Nope, and anyways, I can't. I have to get Hiragana by copy and paste. My laptop won't type Japanese, or atleast, I don't know how to get it to type that.

Then you can't use aliases. Hiragana will not copy and paste properly in UTAU. You have to type it in; just add Japanese to your keyboard languages in Control Panel.

But never matter, can you explain to me the oto.ini? I looked up the tutorial and I didn't quite understand it since the person who made the tutorial was tired and didn't explain it well...

Thanks for the link, and yes, I clicked enter, I clicked set, basically anything that I thought would've put it to that setting.

I'm thinking on making a tutorial of a way of making the Japanese alias with MicrosoftWord for a not Japanese locale.
oto.ini is, basically, a plain text file and MicrosoftWord has an option for Japanese even without the locale. So, in theory, you could edit the oto.ini in Word and add the alias there.
But I still need more research to see if it's really compatible with UTAU (and the will to type all the tutorial later -_-).

Maybe you want to check it yourself if you know what I am talking about.

I got already Thanks to my friend Fukokun, so now I have her OTO.INI and I can type in Japanese for the Aliases.
