Soooo This is my first time on here, and i just made an account. Today i downloaded UTAU and... well i'm looking for someone to give me some pointers on how to use the darn thing! xD I got an english patch so its in english for me now.. but yeah. other then that i discoved vocaloids about 2 months ago and am in love!~

Well i bet you could help a bit, i mean i litterally dont know what I'm even supose to do on this thing. All i know is i downloaded it and now i want to make a UTAU for myself, using my voice as a base? Any idea how?

alright but first you need to answer these

1) what os do you have
2) do you know how to change you locale

hmmm, Windows 7 starter, its the only thin my netbook came with.

and yes, but i have a patch for UTAU that makes the tools and file stuff in english ^^

to open a relist other then the one provided with oremo

in the oremo window click
file
then
load recordlist

annnnd now i'm comfussed. I downloaded that link to teh omake or whatever, but what is it for? i cant open it because i dont have the correct reader? ive never even heard of omake, do i perhaps need to download a programfor that to?

did you extract it? or did you try runing it inside the .rar

hmmn, no the omake file i downloaded wasnt a ziped file its name is " oremo-2.0-b091205-english.rar "

EDIT: and it said that i could run it causse i didnt have th right stuff to run it in?

ya its a .rar its like a zip you basiclly extract it in to a folder you want it to be in using the program winrar or 7zip(recomended) or anyother program you use

i have no clue how to do that... WHen i made my program english all i did was right hand click the zip file and press 'extract'. no clue how to do that any other way. I really am out of my league i guess.

after you install the program and restart find where you put the .rar file and extract it

If you don't plan of changing locale or using AppLocale, use Audacity (or any program to record audio, really) and do it manually.

well i dont understand japanese, so i couldnt change my language to that. but after that, you lost me. i really am compltly new to this, sorry!

changing your locale wont change your system language

oh.. Well then what does it do?

it tells programs that dont run in unicode what language to run it

and oremo and utau dont use english unicode it uses japanese unicode(even though they appear in english with patches and translations)

You mean like an .ust? Sango and UtauReni has some awesome .ust's, or you can always go to vocalochu to find some good ones.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself, though. Have you done your oto yet? That'll be an enjoyable experience for you. xD

Honestly, if you're a good artist I'd be willing to do your oto for you. I suck at art, and I hate making requests, so I take a trade whenever I can.

I'm still trying ot make UTAU make any kind of noise. x.x cant get a peep out of it.
