Yeah...I'm not exactly happy with my UTAU's voice.

But I don't know what others think of it. I know for one thing, I need to fix the pronunciation a bit.

So if you need to know how she sounds,

And there's more following from that channel.

That's her ACT 1 though. I'm still working on her ACT 2, but before I finish (it's a long way from finishing)I need some critique on recording and what not.

I used Audacity (yes, people say it's bad, but it's the easiest for me. I mean, Neko Kanochi's a pretty good UTAU and she was recorded using Audacity)

Also, that's just my voice. I didn't really change much except for removing background noise (I get a lot of BG noise for some reason Crying or Very sad)

Tell me any way I can improve? Tips? Etc? confused

    Hm...
Wow, for ACT1? This is really good! Fifty tons better than my ACT1. LOL.
I can't really hear the consonants themselves too well. I might have bad ears or something, but they just seem a *little* muffled in anything. I'd try REAPER next time. The quality is just... it's amaz (amazing). You can get it free, though they'll ask if you wanna buy it and stuff.
But that's all for when you want to do ACT2. I'd take a break unless re-recording was an absolute necessity, which, in this case it really doesn't.
She sounds really unique and a bit more mature compared to other female voicebanks, getting tired of childish (as in y'know, like um... Like 'kid voiced') voiced UTAUs, y'know? :3

I've actually decided to use REAPER this time, instead of Audacity -sweatdrops-. My only problem is the background noise and the muffled-ness.

I've recorded some syllables in REAPER, and the muffled-ness is still there. Perhaps I should move closer to the mic? (It's attached to my laptop's monitor)

Also, the background noise...do you know anyway I can remove the background noise? In Audacity, it ends up giving this metallic sound in the syllable.

Oh, and thanks! xD A lot of people have told me that. Smile

Um... I just removed all the sound from my environment, and since my headset cancels out noise, that also helped (though my air conditioner beats this). Mmm... Move closer, yeah, um... ever tried the tissue thing? Where you like, get a band and some tissue paper and put it about the tip of the microphone or something? I dunno, I never tried, and I heard it is amazing. Moving up would help, and really try your best to like, emphasize the consonants WITHOUT aspirating or 'punching the consonant' into the vowel... Otherwise it'll sound really dumb in my opinion.
Ugh... I never give advice. Hope this is understandable. Dx

    :D

If you had a better mic, it would be perfect. It sounds perfectly smooth, it's just muffled. It sounds like a human singing into a so-so mic, which is the absolute best you can do with a so-so mic. It's really amazing for your Act I.

If you try closer to the mic, be sure that you don't clip. You're really good at this, I hope you can get your mic troubles sorted out.

    I like her voice a lot! :D
I don't think her pronunciation's bad. The only problem (and I don't really think it's a huge one anyway) is the quality. So if you got a better mic it would make her sound better. ^^

Well, now I know what's wrong Smile I didn't know at first since I wasn't really getting comments or anything, so I didn't know what others thought. I'll see if I can go out and buy a new mic or something from Best Buy some day.

    Thank you guys!
