Anything with 'sh', methinks. I've listened to a bunch of Japanese utaus and they all pronounce it differently. Like, Keine Ron and Pponyo pronounce it with a little hissing s at the beginning before doing a short sh sound. Other utaus seem to have a more solid sh.

Also, my ch's always sound funny to me. I might just be paranoid.

"ch" is pronounced more like "tch".

"sh" is a cross between "s" and "sh".

Say Aster, you're giving everyone quite some advice here!

(Any advice on English r's for someone who can only pronounce them when talking English?)

    English rs are:
    * Best pronounced with lips flared outwards
    * When dissected, come out as "er" (i.e. "ra" = "era")
    * Extremely awkward for any language besides English

You're kinda supposed to say "nya" like a cat - that's why "nya" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for meowing.

After th and Spanish "c" but they are more easy than H sounds...

    And about roll R (but now, I find they're better now....Anyway, I pronunce them as L )

Yeah! English R are kinda "swallowed". For Japanese R you must put the tip of your tongue in your hard palate, so there's a big diference XD

    I can't roll Rs. *crais*

But anyway... I have a hard time with "ryo". xD It always sounds like "dyo" or "*nasal sound* yo".
Or sometimes my mic is just like "Lol I'm going to get rid of your consonant now *turns ryo into yo*".
