Can anyone tell me how to produce smoother almost-VCV sounding voicebank? Because my UTAU, Akihiko, is sounding very metallicish and robotic even with overlap and pre-utterance ;(

You can produce a better quality-output by changing envelopes and adding flags.

Of course, a good oto.ini is absolutely needed.
And also to fit the UST to the voicebank's oto as this thread shows.
The metalic thing could come from echo while recording and very short vowel in the oto configuration. Those are more hard to check issues.

Re: Making a smooth voice with CV?
Well, basically if you want to make it smooth...
1. get a good quality mic
2. leave very little, but still some empty space in the end of a sound when making an oto.
3. good oto.ini's are good utau's.
By the way,you can check a good quality UTAU's oto's (Like Teto or Ritsu, for an example) and see how the actual sound looks like.It can give you ideas.
