    You have tried importing the VSQ, right? You cannot simply open it, you must select import. (Not trying to make you sound stupid. ;m; )

    If you still have a problem then, it's probably defoko messing you up. If that's the case, I'd be happy to convert the VSQ into a UST for you.

    so hang on a sec... if defoko is messing me up... than how do i delete her? i dont wana make you go through the trouble of converting the VSQ, cuz there may be other VSQs i wana use in the future. but im not sure how to delete Defoko-chan. theres no point in keeping her cuz i never use her...

    Well before I downgraded to the previous version of UTAU, having Defoko set as my default voicebank kept me from being able to import VSQs. I can't say why, but when I changed the default UTAU to my own, the problem was solved. Though it's not so much about deleting Defoko, but if you want to, I'm pretty sure it won't do any harm. You'd just have to eliminate the "uta" folder from the "voice" folder. That's Defoko.

    Or, you can simply do what I did. I can not guarantee that this if the most efficient/correct way of doing this, nor can I promise it'll work for you. But it's worth a shot.

    Open UTAU and go to Tools > Options (If in Japanese it's (T) > (O)
    Then, proceed to the fourth tab of the box that just opened. It is right before "MIDI"
    At the bottom, there is a check box that says "change voice root dir". Make sure the box is checked.
    Now check to see what the directory says. If it says "uta", then Defoko is selected. (This is how it was for me before downgrading UTAU)
    Here you can choose another UTAU's folder, or you can just change it to the "voice" folder as I currently have it. To change the directory, you click the small box to the right with three small dots. (If you were unsure)

    Tell me what happens and we can go from there. I'm new to UTAU myself, so I apologize if this isn't entirely helpful. ;m;
