As you've seen on the title, what is actually a VCV? Is it diferent from normal VB? I've saw and read about people talking about VCV, but I couldn't find the definition of it.

Re: What is VCV??
Halo should have the best answer on this, but a regular voicebank is considered 'CV' meaning 'Consonant Vowel' bank.
it has the usual sounds like 'ka' 'ru' 'ga' etc.
'VCV' stands for 'Vowel Consonat Vowel'
Its a kind of triphonic bank. |D
Its a series of recorded sounds like 'a ga za da ba'
so you can get
'a ga'
'a za'
'a da'
'a ba'
its a vowel, consonant, then vowel (H)
I suck at definitions, but thats how I undertsand it. xD

O~k... In short, VCV is using words like 'a i ru'(air) instead normal hiragana - katakana words.. Am I wrong??

Re: What is VCV??
Um...
Not quite XD
VCV is used to make UTAUloids sound smoother.
Howso?
Well, instead of the sudden change of "a" to "i" in a UST, you have "a" in one note, then "a i" in the next.
The "a i"'s oto file (the recording being aaiauea) would have the end of the "a" and the full "i" note in it.
Do you see how this works? It blends the notes and make's them smoother and more realistic.
So, Toeto, with a full VCV Voice Bank would look like this:
"- a/a na/a ta/a no/o ko/o to/o ga"
^^
Examples of a good VCV Voice Bank are Shirakane Hiyori, Namine Ritsu and Suiga Sora.

Re: What is VCV??
A cat... is singing??
Forget that.. I've recently read other member's post.. I think I understand a little bit about VCV...
I don't want to put it long, so I make it short...
e.g.
Word --> Irrigation
When put in UTAU --> 'I' 'ri' 'ge' 'sho' 'n' (in Japanese accent)
But, to make the 'Irr' sound like there's double 'r', make a VCV --> 'Ir'
I don't know if I've understand it right... Or... like, instead of putting 'i' and 'ma' separately, make it fused together.. 'i ma'...
Uuuu....

You take the vowel from the previous syllable.
So;
"i" "ri" "ge" "i" "sho" "n"
turns into;
"i" "i ri" "i ge" "e i" "i sho" "o n"
So you still have the same amount of notes, just you put the vowel from the previous note and a space onto the front of note.

Oh I get it... like: Wait
'We' 'i' 'to'
but for VCV:
'We' 'ei' ' i to'
