    Near the close of last year, Ameya-P had announced that UTAU would be turned into shareware.
    This caused much of a panic in the community, in which we were all worried we weren't able to use UTAU anymore without having to buy it.
    However, updates still came for freeware UTAU. And we still have freeware UTAU.
    So what happened to this mysterious "Shareware UTAU"?
    Well, truth be told, there is now a new file in each update to UTAU called "shareware". In it, lies a link to this page-

    And on the page, something to the means of "Unlocking more content" is on there. In other words, Shareware UTAU is the same as Freeware UTAU, just you can do more stuff.

    I also figure.... that this is the key to half of the things we can't currently do on UTAU, such as customize the interface.

    So if you have a Paypal account, I would I advise you get it. If someone would kindly like to translate all the text on the page in the description of the file, that would be very appreciated.

    I would REALLY love to see the so called "shareware" features.
    I do think that one of the shareware features might be the ability to make banks into installable files (With little UTAU logos for the icon). Hoke's female bank, ALEA, was packaged like that instead of a RAR. It weirded me out, but it makes sense that it's a "shareware" feature... I mean, I guess?


    Actually, it may be like REAPER. The "shareware" version will get you nothing but a screen that says "shareware" version. (Which would be lame, but life goes on.)
    I mean, it's approx. thirty dollars, which is also the same as REAPER if I remember correctly, and I guess Ameya does have to eat some kind of food.
    I mean, I'm sure there are SOME new features... But nothing actually drastic.
    ... I think it's just gunna be like REAPER and at worst we'll get an annoying nag screen when we open UTAU.

    LOL We get those every single time we update UTAU. At least if you get the .zip version. Not sure about the .exe version though. XD;

    I dunno why, but I was just wondering...

    I wouldn't want to buy it until I knew every single thing I was getting o3o
    I mean, if all it has is a suped-up ver of MikuMikuVoice and some fancy shiney toolbar, then I wouldn't want to bother....

    But I think I know a Japanese P who has that freq thing in the vid Luna showed. He babbles on and on about frequencies from what I can tell. Now it kinda makes sense.

    There's a button that switches the page from Japanese to English o3o The desc of the item is still the same, but all the shopping info would be in English.
    And I think you just download a two kilobyte file.
    No telling how many copies the key will unlock before going kaput.

    ... Which is why I really want to know what this magical shareware UTAU does o3o

    Lol my dad doesn't trust anything on the internet that isn't PayPal, which I already mentioned the site doesn't support... but isn't the point of shareware like sharing? So if one buys it the rest can have it too (not through uploading cause that would suck, through sending)?

    Actually I think the point of shareware is that the license is shared with the person who buys into it as opposed to them buying the full license all on their own or something. ... orsomething.
    Or it may be they share it for free, then tell you to pay if you like it?

    But I'm pretty sure Ameya wants everyone who gets Shareware UTAU to play that thirty dollars for it.
    (Dude D: (approx.) Thirty dollars (3,400 yen (I think?)) is a lot! Think of all the things you could get with it!)

    Well.
    30 dollars is 140 NIS.

    I only pay a half of it. My dad pays the other half.

    Therefore I pay 70 NIS which is around 15 dollars.

    SHRUG~

    Erm, what would you do if you get it?
    No one here really knows Japanese, so figuring out the controls might take a while.
    Also, the one who made this video is probably a pro at this, and it might be harder then it looks.

    ... I think this is more for people that are verrrrry serious about UTAU.
    30 dollars overall isn't much, but...

    Well the only change I see so far is that the top is silver-y :U

    I 'm 120% sure it's there, but I can't find the add-ons and unripe doo-doo covered banana... CAUSE, THE INSTRUCTION FILES ARE IN JAPANESE, AND GOOGLE TRANSLATE DOESN'T HELP MUCH!
