    specifically clearity of the mic. i would search around amazon and read all the reviews to see all the pros and cons for a good mic/headsets you find (of course not all are perfect so find some around 4-5 star ratings with lots of reviews THAT YOU LIKE OR CAN COMPROMISE WITH) my headset is made by turtle beach (a gaming headset) earforce hpa2 with 5.1 true surround
    link here -> http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efhpa2/home.aspx
    i found that for about 70-80 bucks at amazon.com
    good quality sound and good clearity.

    i'm sure there are cheaper ones out there.
    but still, look at the ratings and reviews, you don't want one that will kill your voice DX mine can actually pick up the bass in my voice now unlike the old cheap one i had which made me sound weird.

    but more often, if you already have a good mic/headset then what you may need is a newer soundcard or a soundcard if you don't already have one.

    um i personally don't have a soundcard so i mess with settings to get a good balance for my computer
    and it's working fairly good for now... i still need one though, but that's for another time.

    I have a Rockband microphone, a pop filter, and a mic stand, all which I got for under $30. It's robust, clear, and very responsive. Head phones are a plus.

    I would recommend it if you want something high-quality. Actually, any PS2/PS3/Xbox360 singing mic will work.

    As long as the microphone that comes with it is a USB mic, then sure. You can buy them alone on Amazon though. For this mic to work at it's best, you'll need a pop filter (which is like $5) a mic stnad ($15 or so) and a clip to go on top ($3-7).
