K, third time recording, I think it should suck less this time. .w. From what I can tell (not that I completely trust my own judgement anymore), it does sound much less crappy.

You can fix the clipping by wrapping a paper tissue over the microphone. It works pretty neat.

It sounds like your mic is worse. Act2 is really clear, but Act3 sounds muffled.

Yeah, these particular recordings are actually pretty bad, especially 'tsu'. I'm still getting used to using this new one, so the early recordings were..not good.

This thread is actually already pretty outdated, since I've been re-recording constantly.

Software or mic? The mic is a logitech headset that was recommended to me. Software is Oremo.

Oremo may be contributing to the muffle and general odd sounding.

And usually I record at my desk, but I've been trying something more spacious because of an implication in the recording tips that recording into a wall = bad.

i've been using audacity and it's been an angel~
doing 'em one at a time doesnt take that long either once you get used to the button order

hit r, yell, hit s, export, name, enter, delete sound, hit r, repeat.

then again i couldn't get OREMO to work on my computer so i might just be missing out >n<;;

Well, OREMO isn't exactly the best recording software, quality wise XD
I'd only recommend it if you have a nice, crisp space to record in. I personally record on a couch in the corner of my house, so that I don't get echos. ^^''

Eh, personally the stuff I've recorded with Oremo tends to sound better. But I'm quickly learning not to trust my own judgement.

Clearchat. I've heard wonderful things about this one, so it probably just is my location or software.

Which I'm going to switch around next time anyway (going to try either Audacity or REAPER for recording, since, although exporting will be annoying, I've heard nothing but good things about both of them).

Could be. But pretty much everything aside from the recording software is different from what I used when recording Hokuro's act 2. The location is different, I'm using a new laptop (and of course the laptop in question is a spiteful doggy-woggie-poo that doesn't work properly with my programs half the time ), and a new microphone. There are a lot of variables that have been changed.

And yes it sounded awful. Let's just agree everything is sounding awful right now.

ETA: Yeah, on recollection, I think the comp might be a suspect here. It did something similar while I was trying to record an append. Same mic, same software, same location, same everything. But all the samples came out unripe doo-doo covered banana. Gonna try a combination of a) better location b) better software c) old, non-bitchy laptop. Failing that, I'll look into a new mic. Again.

You should look at your mic-settings too. It helped me A LOT.

And the first one was muffled and clippy (hence why she had only 5-ish sounds left), the second was just..warped. and muffled.
