    Pitch Bending? Empty Pitch Bending?

    Post by Crossfrown Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:19 pm

    Can someone please tell me how to pitch bend with the latest UTAU?

    It was a piece of cake with whipped cream and sprinkles in the older versions, but now I'm like "WHAT AM I DOING".

    When I use Mode2, I'm not sure how to drag it up, just around. >:
    I'm sure there's some sort of setting I'm missing.

    ...Mode2 pitch bends sound better in the end (and will fit to any UTAUloids voice, rather than just one as I have recently found out), but yes, there are a little more confuzzling Dx

    Basically, you can't move the first or last square in any other direction other than sideways. What you need to do is select the note you want to pitch bend and either:

    1: Right click, select pitch. First, check and re-check the first box if the menu is grayed out. After that, select the second drop down menu and select a number and press OK.
    Some more squares will pop up |D Move them around and play with them until you get the hang of it. Sorry shitty advice is shitty. ^^;;

    2: Right click one of the little squares, a different menu will pop up 8D The first four options change the type of pitch bend shape it is, I only just found this option. Its VERY helpful. The two after that (sometimes one) add and subtract squares. Useful if you need more than 6 bends. The last option opens the "Pitch" pop-up c:

    Then just move the pitch bends into the shape you want them to be in. To start out, I traced pitch bends I did in Mode1, but maybe that's just me ^^;

    Play with them and look at other Mode2 USTs to see what can be done with them 8D

    H-hope I helped... OTL

    @Misha
    They're the squares on the red line, there's one on each end and you can add more in the middle if you want by changing the number in the drop down box on the pitch menu. =)

    Oh! And if you want the beginning of the note to be lower or higher, drag the second square to the note you want it to start on, and drag it sideways toward the first square until it won't let you go any farther and you can't see the red line between the first square and the second square.

    Um, I hope that made at least a little bit of sense. ^__^;; Really, just playing around with it and looking at other Mode2 USTs is the best way to figure it out. Or a video tutorial, but I dunno if there are any out there on Mode2. =(

    Huh... WHICH REMINDS ME I NEED TO GET ON FINISHING THAT FAQ AND ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS ON IT.
