How did you find out about utau/vocaloid?

Well basically for me around June 2009 I youtubed baka and what turned up was the song triple baka. Soo after a week I figure out vocaloid is not an anime but a voice program. And I want to say for about a solid 2 weeks I thought Teto was a fanmade vocaloid that pretend to be a new vocaloid. Then the song Kasane Terrortry (pardon my spelling) told me that teto was appart of free software. So after song googlein I find utau Install it on my xp system couldn't get it to work because I needed to change my locale but I didn't have the files xp needs to do that. So when I got a window vista disk (in January 2010) and found out about pocaloid from cover-p so I was going to do a fanmade set with the Koorine lastname. Then cover-p told me why don't you do something more original and make an utau. So after some planing I start recording using wikipedias hiragana list little by little I got the recordings done. Then I found out the samples were bad. I lived on a busy street. So when I moved to my moms this past summer I found out about oremo and stole the rockband mic from my brother and recorded kurisu koorine.

This took me about half an hour to write xD

I think I was looking for some "cool japanese songs" to bring for a karaoke with friends, so i thought about vocaloids that people were always drawing with microphones/headphones/whatever on RMD, and looked that on google. that was august last year. and then I knew about Kasane Territory from Teto somewhen in October/November, and googled that "freeware" thingy of Teto's and was watching tutorials everywhere of how to make utau work, and stuff, and knew about Zanda in December, when I finally got utau to work.

...I did tell you that the first version of my utauloid had the last name "koorine", right?

I first learned of Vocaloid when I heard the song "melody..." somehow. It was about the time when Rin/Len had come out.

I don't remember how I found out about UTAU, but I never thought that Teto was a vocaloid. I knew she was an UTAU^^

Then I found out you could put your own voice into UTAU, and I was ecstatic ouo

I learned from Nica last summer (which is like April - May in the Philippines). XD She kept spamming me with videos of Kenta (and I was wondering how a real person could sound like that XD) and Emiko. So I actually learned about UTAU before Vocaloid. I learned about Vocaloid when Nica sent me Emiko's 'Melt' and told me to look up the original.

It's the same thing with Utau (because I "met" Teto almost at the same time as Miku, Kaito and Meiko)

This was during November of 2008.
I was looking at SSBB MADs on Youtube and one of them had Miku Miku Shite Ageru,but I didn't know it was sung by Miku,I just thought it was just a really catchy song and kinda brushed it by. That was the first Vocaloid song I heard,I just didn't know it 'til later.

Then I saw a Kaito preview picture that looked like Marth - interested,I clicked it. He was singing You.
That's when I learned about Vocaloid.

How I learned about UTAU was through related videos on YT,lol.
I found out about Teto in her version of World Is Mine. xDD

Hmm... For me it was Spring 2009. I think it was, anyways.
I know I've heard of VOCALOID before then, but that's when I became obsessed with it.
I think the first video that really got me interested was "Love&Joy". One of those MMD things... Miku was in the Kumikyoku Nico Nico Douga Medley, too, which I had some obsession over the year before. I google'd it some, didn't understand it at all, and just browsed on YouTube.
The first songs that I listened to were Meltdown, Kokoro, Kokoro Kiseki, Dolls, and a few more Rin songs that I can't remember.
While trying to learn about everything, someone was like "These aren't all the Vocaloids there's Mako, Teto, Momo, Luna, and Defoko too, durhurhur." And eventually, I learned about UTAU.

My way is rather... hilarious.
I first found Vocaloid in 2008, when I was on an extreme hard Kingdom Hearts trip. I found a person who made parodies of it, and said person did the Nyan Nyan dance with the rock version. I wanted to get the mp3 of the rock version and I found a person who made an own Nyan Nyan animation, and this person also made Miku in a speedpaint. She said Vocaloid was a program, I've searched for it and found melody..~ After Triple Baka I found about Kasane Territory, read the comments, found Momo, searched in the Vocaloid wiki for information about UTAU, where it said you can also use your own voice. And then I found SRS' UTAU tutorial... and on 6/24 Tuwai was born.

I learned about vocaloid from my friend posting pictures of Miku on her webpage about a month after Miku came out, calling her her OC named Amber.

Been a fan ever since.

I found out about it at my schools manga club. XD Our president showed us Alice Human Sacrifice and was like "LOVE IIIIIT D<" And we did. XD I looked it up when I got home and spammed my friend with songs and yeah good times. >w>

I found out about UTAU when I was looking up MMD stuff, actually. I think it was on MikuMikuBeat, they had a little section that mentioned UTAU. I saw it and was like "Huh. Sounds neat. Oh well, back to MMD. =3=" And I didn't download it or think about it again for like, months. XD

I found out about both from one of my friends at school~ it was late 2008, so there were like about two videos of UTAU-related songs I found on YT at that time. (Actually there were more, I couldn't be bothered with looking at them.) Fast forward to 5 July of 2009 - many more UTAUs (especially of the overseas type) appeared and Kii first entered the UTAU scene. With regretfully horrible recordings and oto settings because I had only found out how to download and sorta-work UTAU mid-May.

It was this January

My friend had a VOCALOID song on her phone "Romeo and Cinderella" covered by Rin & Len, at first I really thought that some artist was singing then I researched about it on YT and I found that a program sang it orz

by that time I was curious of making your own VOCALOID thingy..

and stumbled upon Anaka singing "World is Mine" xD

I was like WTF's UTAU o_o

and by March I bought a new mic and made Mizuiro xD

Oh well I saw some pics of Miku Hatsune on photobucket and my first thought was "She`s kinda cute but the colors are ...blah e.e".Then i saw that in the tags it said Vocaloid.And my first thought was "Hey It`s an anime!I`mma watch it!".Soo since youtube is rlly messy I went ont his bulgarian site vbox7.com where I allways watch anime cause it`s nt on parts.So I typed "Vocaloid episode 1" and what I got was "Дъщерята на Злото - Рин Кагамине" in english "Daughter of vil - Rin Kagamine.I was like WTF when I saw it was 4 minutes and something btu still watched it.I LUVED the song and found out it has a sequel.So I watched the entire Evil Series and int he end I was all liek "OMG D: I didn`t watch the anime but ohs hit that was sad D: *sobsobsob*".So I decided to google Vocaloid to make sure It`s an actuala nime and not some game.So I went on wikipedia,read every single article and my head was pumping with knowledge 8D.After a few months fangirling over Len *shot for being a past-lenfag* I found out this verry interesting article on the wiki about UTAU.The thought of making your own loid made me go all *squeeeeel*.So yeah I learned UTAU (verry sloqsly) and started recording and thinking something like"OMG I wish my UTAU would turn out as awsome as this <3" at every BLYTHE Anaka video I watched xD. Yep that`s my storry ^^

Vocaloid: Looking at OS-tans in Iichan if I don't get wrong. In that time, there was just 50 fanarts of Vocaloid in DeviantART. XD
UTAU: I was looking at Vocaloid videos in Youtube, then I saw Teto and Zuii.

I saw a beautiful picture of Miku and I was like "holy hell such a beauty, I'd tap that" although didn't know her name, I tried searching around for the "anime" lmao XD then I just asked what her name was on the video and found out, the rest is my relationship with the sexy google. I love you google.
It was a fun ride~ I wanna do it all over again~!
