Nanami removed her models

Apparently Nanami, the person who makes such AWESOME MMD models has took them down:

Even though I love her models I can see why she's upset.

She said we couldn't edit her models and redistribute them however people DID NOT LISTEN.

I personally think we should message her and like let her know not all of us are abusing her models.

Yeah I think messaging them would be a great idea.

Unless they give permission I'm really against editing them and redistributing them.

as a PMD editor I LOVE THEIR MODELS.
Although it's rude to not ask them if you could share them. That is why all my edited models from theirs are safely locked away in my models folder until someone wants one then I will ask nicely of either nanami of anamaro (depending on which model) if I could share this model with them.
It's simple but people just don't want to go to the trouble and thus this happens~

Well, I just know that there was a stupid person who told an other person that he/she can distribute his/her model which had parts of Nanami in it. I want to stab that person .____. I don't mention names, but...
I mean, I have almost all of Nanami's models, but it seems that people don't want to listen/read. I have a model with Nanami parts in it, however, it's not distributed because I READ.

I hope Nanami calms down soon...

I agree with what they did ... I've never distributed edited versions or uploaded versions elsewhere, however I've seen people who have. Of course there are the people who are ignorant and don't know that you're not meant to redistribute, because they got it from a link, and they don't know that they're not meant to edit it (thus the reason for the "no reupload" rule)

However, they do need to chill a little. I mean ... they're uploading it to the internet. Enough said. It does come somewhat with the teritory.

Though I saw the most ridicules post that someone made. They said "Thank god for other links, because Nanami has just taken down their model upload page" I don't think they got the point ....

I agree. I hope Nanami clams down as well. I really love her models. Especially the Chimera Teto one. I think it's okay to edit the models and make videos of them as long as you're not providing a download link to the model you edited. I'm sure Nanami wouldn't get mad at that!

I also saw the video. It was a Camila Melodia model someone was working on (which I thought was really pretty).

The poor girl. She got tricked so badly.

i've seen too many people on yt who are editing models and redistributing them... or even have. Some, which who are right under our noses. *coughnotmebutlookaroundandyoucantellcough*

Anyways, i always had a problem with people taking models, coloring and editing them, and giving them half-assed names...

and yes, I've found people who have been tricked by "people who can speak Japanese" and "will help them talk to Nanami" or even the flat out lie "I've talked to Nanami and she'll let me distribute"

I hope this situation gets... (better)?

PFFT I totally know what you mean. At least have the decency to combine the models together. There ARE tutorials on youtube to teach you to do so *facepalm*

After fiddling with some technical jargon, using some stuff I really shouldn't know how to use, and trusting in the fact no Japanese encoder can ever keep his mouth shut, I finally found out this one fact:

Nanami never removed her models.

She's blocking off access to her downloads from America.

It is still possible to download the models. PM me and I'll tell you how, after you have given me sufficient proof you won't go around editing them.

Wasn't a girl, it was poor Victor ;A; He's still upset, and thinks that was his fault (well, not really, he initially didn't want to redistribute at all)...

And about the "blocking", it's not only for America, it's worldwide. I don't know an ounce of MMD, let alone PMD editing (seriously), but I like to play with the program, it's nice to do reference poses XD

Nanami should copywrite her models or something so that people won't go around re-distributing them... But I hope her anger cools down soon. I really wanted Momone Momo and Megurine Luka... Her models are pretty. How to get them?

Her models haven't actually been removed.
She just blocked a handful of countries, and past that there's a password system.

It states her rules in English on her download page (after you put in the password)

Edit: she just changed her rules.
-You may not modify the model data.
-You may not remodel it into another character.
-You may not use parts or textures from her models in ohters.
-You may not redistribute no matter what.
(all of this stuff you can do with written permission from Nanami though, so if you absolutely have to use something of hers, contact her.)

This is the second time she's had to to this.
It's a never ending cycle; Puts models up, people break rules, she puts password system up, things cool down, password system goes down, people get access to models again, repeat.
In other words; She's sick of it.
The password system and block isn't going down.
Because she knows it's just an endless cycle.

Her models are copyrighted.
But that doesn't really change anything.
There's too many people for her to find and take legal action against them all.

That's why the password system is still there.
Her words were "People who do not keep the rules disappoint me. There are even people who speak Japanese (who do the same thing)."

however she has changed her password.

If I have given you the password, please do not distribute.

This new password is very difficult for non-Japanese-speakers to figure out and I wish to keep it that way. I don't want another editing problem.

may i plz have the password. no i will not redistribute them expecially since i hate rule breaking ( and anything illegal) its agaisnt what i belive and redistributing is not what she wants. ( sorry for the long comment )

It's so sad that Nanami put up the passwords, but she does have a point. With all the distribution of her models, she doesn't get the credit she deserves.

I'm sorry to say that while Nanami has not changed her password, she has once again put up the country barrier. Of course there's a way to get around it again.

Well, looks like it's done for. Even being in Japan doesn't work now; Nanami has deleted the models entirely, so I can no longer help anyone.
