really? o.o cause i don't know most of them except maybe a few like renzi, celestine, kouhei and nami. and i can vouch for kouhei not being noticed much no one really knows of him very well or uses him... i know that much atleast.

Yeah, I know, a lot of UTAUloids in this topic (including half the UTAUloids I posted) aren't underappreciated, but some of them just aren't as loved as they should be.

I was going by the more general fanbase on the forums here. Though I know That like, about 4 of us on the thread know all of these, the great majority on the forum don't... ouo; So perhaps aside from Pamyu I'd think that what I've posted are ones that need promoting...

But ones like Nami though, yeah, that seems a bit random ^^;

agreed a lot of utaus need more love, i'm starting to see a trend where i see the same utaus used over and over in choruses and duets. more variety is needed.

Under appreciated =/= unused.
If you want a voice catalogue thread, make a thread with that title and try to categorize the voices. Soft, Mature, Accented ect.
Which I actually think is a good idea and would be willing to help with with.

i can see this thread promoting the fact that a lot of these slightly known, known and unknown should be used more [by other people] instead of seeing the same familiar utau's over and over again in each and every chorus or duet. like branch out, download some VB's and use them and post them up to youtube instead of just twitter, 4shared and NND where only a few to some people will ever see/hear them. youtube is the most accessible video sharing site around the world. it doesn't even have to be a duet or a chorus to use someones utau.

and unused seems to be a strong word around utau communities... under appreciated i can see and understand because, well for one, it's not that public meaning; limiting to only friends, nico, twitter, 4shared and/or has a name that's so common and mistaken for thousands of others.

those are the most common cases.

and i know some people who actually do play around with other utaus and vocaloids but never ever really want to post them to youtube, they'll only post to certain places thus making them less accessible and go unseen by the masses. so. no one can see the real potential some utaus have, instead we only see the creators make their own utau sing.
i'm pretty sure most if not everyone listened to their first utau on youtube.

so we come back to this thread.
i think this thread is fine and categorizing would get hectic. wouldn't we need to make a thread for each type? that seems like it would take a group of people to do...
all we're doing here is showing (in our opinions) who we think need some much needed love whether someone else thinks so or not. i'm even learning about many of these utaus i just saw in this thread, i never knew about or knew what they looked like but could never remember their name (and are not in the wiki yet).

You're right about that, I'm sorry.
And to be honest, yes, I think we need a good, organized voicebank catalogue. With voice samples and download links (if the UTAU gets distributed). Since the Wiki is getting more and more messy. (Not that I blame anyone for this, it just isn't easy accesible anymore.) And I think a lot of people would benefit by having a thread like that. If people then look for a specific voice they will find it sooner than just asking it.

As for more obscure UTAU recommendation, here's Tsuyune Roto. He's got such a soft & smooth voice.


I also recommend Chikushino Suimu/Swim, voiced by the same person as Roto. She seems to be used more than him, though, at least on Nico.
