Well, if you don't know who I am, surely Myst-san would know xD

    I'm just wondering...
If one person was banned for some reason, he could just create a new email and account altogether. And once THAT account would be banned, he could just do it again consecutively, abusing the other members of the forum. It would be "Create account, abuse person, get banned, repeat step 1."

For example, I was banned for supposedly sending CDchan a death threat. I have created a new account. The question is, what should the administrators do about it?

    Just curious.

    ...Ah. |:
I thought that you could ban by IP, but then again, I don't know anything about the admin tools.

    ...
But I know it happens frequently on other sites with that "just create a new email" thing.

Well hello again Atoms. Do you fare well?

What you say is correct, but ip banning is one of those few things that are not very supported. o_o

Hmmm, I was pretty sure I banned by IP. I suppose I should check this.

    Awkward, but, I guess thanks for pointing out the issue? ._.;;

I was told this forum place does not support permanent ip bans. so in time the ban is lifted and life starts over or something. but thats just what im told.

I am testing the IP bans for a week. You have my YT address of course, so if you want feel free to message me there.

As awkward as the situation is, this was good to point out. Apparently I'd done the IP ban incorrectly the first time.

What u say is true, but it seems like more a hassle for the person banned.
What is the point of going through all of that : /
and it's not that hard gettin past IP bans. I've done it.

True, but it's worth a test to make sure at least that system of the forum is working.
I know that it's easy to skirt IP bans because we've dealt with a person on the petsite I work on who got around the bans no less than 8 times.

Admittedly IP bans wouldn't work with me.

My computer seems to change its own IP and I can't figure out why or how. It seems to be randomized on when it changes.

I heard that Vista/Windows 7 can make a fake IP Address if you need it too. It's not hard to get around IP bans if you have Vista or Windows 7. Neutral

Actually, you can renew and release your IP. I use that when my internet server won't recognize my computer's IP address. Doesn't happen often, but yeah.

ACTUALLY, it's my router. It turns itself off randomly and when the silly thing turns back on my IP changes a little.

yeah ip's can be changed.. i remember this guy kept changing his ip on RO one of the mods had to ban the city area (for a short period) because a person was disrespectful (that's putting it very very loosely =.=) about the admins sister's death... i wanted to freakin' fly down where that person lived and beat him up! D;<
    (sorry i went a bit off topic ^^;; )

i just wouldn't want to see a repeat of something like that again @____@

...Even if you guys can do permanent IP bans, and that the person can't change the IP...
What if you have 2 computers with different internet connections? (like mae, she has a dialup and a highspeed (?) internet....)
