How to tell whether a Vocaloid is good or bad

* If the Vocaloid is female, it sucks because it’s not male.
* If the Vocaloid is male, it sucks because it has a girly voice.
* If the Vocaloid is male with a manly voice, it sucks because the voice is too unique to be used with any demographic.
* If the Vocaloid is an English one, it sucks because it’s not one of the Japanese ones.
* If the Vocaloid is a Japanese one, it sucks because it’s automatically overrated and not as good as the English ones.
* If the design includes a “civilian” element to it, it sucks because it’s not “Vocaloid-ish” enough.
* If the design includes “robotic” elements, it sucks because it’s unnatural.
* If the design centers around music, it sucks because it’s tacky.
* If the Vocaloid has a bright voice, it sucks because it’s peachy and high-pitched and annoying and there aren’t enough with deep voices.
* If the Vocaloid has a deep voice, it sucks because it doesn’t fit and it’s awkward.
* If the Vocaloid is an adult, it sucks because it’s got a restricted demographic.
* If the Vocaloid is a teenager, it sucks because there are too many teenage voicebanks.
* If the Vocaloid is a young child, it sucks because it’s a loli.
* If the Vocaloid has only one voicebank for its price, it sucks because it’s a rip-off.
* If the Vocaloid has more than one voicebank, it sucks because it’s a marketing scam.
* If the Vocaloid is franchise-based, it sucks because it’s another marketing ploy.

* If it sounds even a bit like another Vocaloid, or has a tiny bit of similarity in appearance, it sucks because it's unoriginal.

A lot of that stuff doesn't really apply to the unpleasable fanbase, though.

I fine-tuned the Vocaloid post to fit the actual fanbase.

i know i did it in like 3 seconds xD good post though, i have no bias when it comes to vocaloid... exept for miku, rin/len and luka, i lost interest in them..

@moeloid I'm in the same boat. Like the new Lufia coming out. They changed a heap of it. Everyone's like "They changed it, now it sucks" when they haven't even played it yet. Lucky there is a rule called "don't judge a book by it's cover" I have the Lily demo and I'm fine with it. Why can't other people just be happy it's a vocaloid?

this post made me think of the "hardcore" sonic fans they're stupid and unreasonable.. and that's saying a lot about the vocaloid community @_@

a sonic purist will get anything sonic has touched and enjoy the games for what they are.
a so called "hardcore" fan will complain that this isn't the real sonic. sonic needs speed or
will complain that it needs more old school elements more platforming and blah blah blah.

sega is a supporter of it's fans but the fans take sega for granted and sega still tries to appease them.

i am a sonic fan too and i don't care what the other fans think. i still like sonic adventure 1 and 2 despite the unripe doo-doo covered banana they say about them.

i also like some utaus and vocaloids despite whatever unripe doo-doo covered banana someone says about them.
most everyone i see judges them the moment they show up and then loving on them a few weeks later because someone finally figured out the best way to use this utau or that vocaloid to make them sound amazing.

i think "fans" need to learn to take thing for what they are instead of what they "should be",
originality isn't always original and doesn't happen often with most people even if they are the super creative type.
