How to make an UTAU breath sound NATURAL!

Yes, it can be done!

And it's easy!

(REMEMBER: DO NOT OTO YOUR BREATH SOUNDS)

1. Find your breath noise in Voice Bank Settings

2. Click "Edit Freq. Map"

3. See where the red line is on the diagram. The last UTAU I edited, Chiyoko (sample below), has hers just under C2.

4. Move any breaths in the UST to that level.

5. REJOICE! 8'D


EXAMPLE:
This UTAU has only one normally recorded breath sample. First breath in the UST is unedited, at Teto's breathing level. Second is put at under C2, the level I found in the frequency map.

Oi does this work with breathout too?
I can get a normal breathin sound anywhere, but the breathout sounds like a guitar ;3;

another easy way to make it sound natural is just set the BRE to 100 XDDD

This doesn't always work xD;

I know, I tried both methods with a dozen or so UTAU.

When I did my breath sound, I didn't do anything but it sounded natural...

weird.

You're the best myst! It took me two tries to record a breath sample that registered in UTAU, but then it worked! I dragged it to the octave just like you said.

*I noticed that Teto otos her breath samples. LOL! Japanese UTAU fail.
