The New Forum

It looks nice so far, and I'm loving the banner. I agree with Taiwonton about the Defoko pic, though, it looks a bit awkward. Perhaps a color-inverted piano roll border like Luna suggested would look better?

Ahhh wow, lots of response while I was away xDDD

Yeah, the random Defoko was a random hastily-cut-out experiment I did in the last 10 minutes of art class, she stayed there since we had to leave class abruptly xD;

She's not a permanent addition, I was just messing around with placing stuff and fixing the background code =u=b

I kinda would rather draw art of her myself than use that pic, since it's kinda... idk. Too light and painterly-looking for the current theme I'm working on xD

I do plan to bring back the piano roll, no problems about that. The gradient idea is awesome... buuuuut adding the gradient on the BACKGROUND would complicate things if you guys still want the piano roll ;u;/ See, the piano roll is actually tiled so it stretches and shows up properly on all screens. It'd be hard to fix that with a consistently-sized static gradient background as well.

Yes, that's why I plan to make both a light and dark to start off with. More layouts to be added afterwards c:

Well it could be possible to do the gradient in one version of the layout, and the piano roll in the other. You did say there would be an option.

But yes, a gradient and a piano roll would be a bit chunky if put together. Whatever you see fit. :^)

like for a dark them use black keys and for lighter themes use white keys (or a varient of other colors if you want to add other color scheme designs)

Hm... Maybe (BTW, for anyone looking at the site, I've been fiddling with the layout. Ignore the many different tones of purple, but at least it's better than the orange). XD

It depends. They'd be a dark grey instead of white, since having bright white patterned stripes on either side of the main part would be kinda distracting.

Okay guys, dark layout is almost done. I just need to replace the stupid orange icons xD

But I also need your feedback. You want me to just go ahead and move the forum while I work on the light layout, or do you want me to wait until that's finished? It's up to you guys~

Of course! =D The new forums seem really neat, and it'll be nice to have a fresh start. And maybe it won't be blocked at school, which would be a big plus~

I vote we move and then deal with the light layout later.
That way, we could perhaps have some experience with the interface and perhaps determine more specifically if there are any things we want to see when it comes to the design of the lighter layout?
